Overview of Daily Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret insurance policy documents to ascertain if coverage is active and applicable to the reported loss.
- Oversee the claims resolution process in collaboration with independent adjusters, offering guidance and strategies for negotiation and settlement within the limits set by insurers.
- Conduct internal adjustments of claims within the authority granted by provincial regulations and insurance providers.
- Establish and uphold precise loss and expense reserves based on investigations and/or recommendations; this includes validating reserve calculations from independent adjusters or insurers and addressing any inconsistencies.
- Execute calculations related to business interruptions.
- Provide insights to Underwriters, Risk Management, and Brokerage teams regarding claims frequency and potential physical risks.
- Manage and process abeyance files and payment timelines.
- Compose and disseminate correspondence to insured parties, insurers, third-party claimants, adjusters, and other industry stakeholders.
- Participate in the Emergency After-Hours Claims Service on-call rotation.
Key Qualifications:
- General Insurance Level 2 License is mandatory.
- Progressing towards your CIP or CAIB designation is preferred.
- RIBO License is considered an asset.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Claims within the insurance sector is required.
- Exceptional professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Work Schedule: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
