The Lead Construction Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient construction of homes, overseeing all aspects from initial carpentry to the final warranty service request signoff.

Reporting directly to the Senior Builder, this role is pivotal in delivering homes with zero defects through effective oversight of trades, inspectors, suppliers, and team members.

The Supervisor serves as the primary liaison for construction-related matters with homeowners, ensuring a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and professional work environment.

This position entails exemplary leadership, including performance management, recognition, coaching, onboarding, and training initiatives.
Adherence to Mattamy Construction Processes is crucial, in line with established Policies and Procedures.
You will be accountable for managing the construction of assigned homes from carpentry through to the 30-day warranty service request signoff.
Daily monitoring of trade functions is essential, focusing on timeliness, quality of workmanship, and completion of tasks.

Conducting daily walkthroughs of all homes to identify imperfections, ensure compliance with Building Code, and verify adherence to Homebuyers Options and Extras is a key responsibility.

Detailed frame checks on each unit prior to drywall installation, in accordance with Mattamy Policy and Procedures, are required.
Scheduling and conducting homeowner frame walks is also part of the role.
You will supervise on-site construction staff, including managing the schedules of subcontractors, inspectors, and suppliers.

Resolving daily challenges on the job site and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications is essential.

Approval of subcontractor invoices for quality and quantity before issuing Completion Slips is part of your duties.
Reinforcing and educating the team on the importance of schedule adherence, safety, and quality standards is crucial.
Maintaining cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of homes during construction is expected.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in residential construction management within the new home industry is required.
Post-secondary education or community college in a related field (e.g., Construction Engineering Technology) is preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant health and safety regulations is necessary.
A clear understanding of contracts, plans, specifications, construction methods, materials, and regulations is essential.
Flexibility to work at various locations across the Ottawa Area is important.
Strong organizational skills, including cost tracking and budget control, are required.
Skills in building relationships with a diverse network of contacts, including trade partners and suppliers, are beneficial.
Proficiency in MS Office software is necessary; knowledge of BuildPro or other ERP platforms is an asset.
Bilingual proficiency in two or more languages is preferred.
