Job Title: Airport Security Specialist

Securiguard is seeking a highly skilled Airport Security Specialist to join our team at Vancouver International Airport (YVR). As a key member of our security operations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of travelers and airport staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to telephone calls and inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, providing direction and escalating situations as necessary.
  • Document incidents and service requests using the Vancouver Airport Authority's platform.
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve various incidents and requests, escalating to the Security Supervisor as required.
  • Deescalate and manage conflict in an appropriate manner.
  • Provide access and egress into and out of the Restricted Area of the airport, when required.
  • Report and dispatch Security Personnel as required.
  • Conduct and document investigations using various systems and platforms provided by the Vancouver Airport Authority.
  • Liaise with external agencies, including YVR, RCMP, CBSA, USCBP, and CATSA.
  • Monitor CCTV video footage and PIDS (Perimeter Intrusion Detection System).
Requirements:
  • Valid Security License with the Province of British Columbia.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, rotating between days and evenings (overnight).
  • Ability to problem-solve and situational awareness.
  • Ability to type up to 40wpm and pass the assessment test.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have access to a vehicle to get to and from work.
Clearance Requirements and Training:

For many of Securiguard's positions based at our Vancouver Airport Branch, candidates must have the ability to obtain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC). This clearance involves a background check based on 5 years of history. Successful candidates will then be trained in Aviation Security and, upon passing the examination, will receive an AVSEC certification.
