Job Summary: We are seeking a Recreation Assistant to conduct therapeutic and recreational activities for seniors in supportive communities, promoting health, wellness, and empowerment.

The Recreation Assistant plays a vital role in helping our seniors experience life well in supportive communities. As a member of our team, you will conduct therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the diverse needs of residents, and work collaboratively to implement a person-centered Wellness Model of Care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead recreational programs and activities that promote health and wellness
  • Implement a person-centered Wellness Model of Care in collaboration with the therapy team
  • Conduct therapeutic and recreational activities to meet the diverse needs of residents
  • Assist with mealtimes and maintain a safe and empowering environment
  • Document and report residents' progress and engage in professional development

About the Role:

As the Recreation Assistant, you will embody the organizational values and exemplify Servant Leadership by prioritizing the needs of others. You will cultivate positive, collaborative relationships with residents, team members, families, and partners while actively engaging in the Wellness Model of Care.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Completion of a recognized recreation therapy aide certificate or diploma, minimum 12 month program
  • Current Food Safe Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate sufficient to meet Licensing requirements
  • A minimum of one year of experience implementing recreation programs in residential Care

Compensation & Benefits:

A caring and supportive environment with a compensation of $28.70
