Position Overview

As the Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, reporting directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for shaping the financial strategy, overseeing company-wide forecasting and budgeting, and delivering critical insights that drive the company's success. Your leadership will guide the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure financial objectives align with the overall company strategy. You will also refine forecasting models to adapt to the ever-evolving landscape of the tech startup environment. Additionally, you will be accountable for presenting detailed financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization. This position is hybrid, requiring in-office attendance several days a week.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CA or CPA designation preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior accounting capacity with a focus on Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
  • Prior experience in a SaaS environment or early-stage startup is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in securing funding through successful investment rounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting tools.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.

Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cash Flow Management:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Enhance forecasting models to improve accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to optimize liquidity for operational needs.
  • Direct payroll functions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support growth objectives.
  • Provide recommendations for enhancing financial performance and operational efficiency.
  • Work closely with teams in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll to ensure cohesive financial operations.
  • Offer financial guidance to other departments, fostering a culture of financial accountability.

Process Optimization:

  • Implement and refine efficient financial processes for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and technology integration to enhance financial operations.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports covering all aspects of budgetary performance and account reconciliation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading the financial function of an organization.
  • Experience in a global SaaS startup environment.
