Position Overview

As the Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, directly reporting to the CEO. You will be tasked with shaping the financial strategy, overseeing forecasting and budgeting across the company, and delivering insightful analyses that will drive the company’s success. Your responsibilities will include leading the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department leaders to align financial objectives with the company’s strategic goals, and continuously refining forecasting models to respond to the evolving landscape of the tech startup environment. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing detailed financial reports, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization. This position offers a hybrid work model, requiring in-office attendance several days a week.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CA or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior accounting position with a focus on Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
  • Experience in a SaaS environment and/or early-stage startup is advantageous.
  • Proven track record in securing funding through successful investment rounds.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a talent for inspiring and influencing others.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting software.
Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term strategic planning.
  • Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior management.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Cash Flow Management

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Enhance forecasting models to improve accuracy and support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
  • Monitor cash flow and implement strategies to optimize liquidity and meet operational needs.
  • Direct payroll operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Work with executive leadership to formulate and execute financial strategies that align with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Provide insights for optimizing financial performance and enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll to ensure a cohesive financial approach.
  • Offer financial guidance to various departments, fostering a culture of financial accountability throughout the organization.
Process Optimization

  • Implement and refine efficient financial processes for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, driving improvements in accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and technology integration to enhance overall financial operations.
Financial Reporting

  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports covering all aspects, from budgetary performance to account reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal financial policies.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading the financial function of an organization.
  • Experience in a global SaaS startup environment.
