Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs

Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, we are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Vice President of Corporate Communications and Public Affairs to support the ApplyBoard business. This results-oriented communications executive will lead and implement innovative internal and external communication strategies and initiatives that engage employees, safeguard and elevate ApplyBoard's brand, and align with strategic business objectives.

Location: This is a remote position, with occasional travel required for specific events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic internal and external communications guidance, planning, and execution to senior business leaders at ApplyBoard.
  • Support the President in developing engagement strategies and thought leadership, including identifying and executing media, employee, and public speeches/events.
  • Contribute to shaping and driving the internal and external narrative for strategic priorities.
  • Safeguard and enhance ApplyBoard's reputation through proactive public relations campaigns and issues management. Act as a spokesperson for ApplyBoard as necessary.
  • Lead a high-performing team of Corporate Communications professionals, effectively coaching, mentoring, and developing team members.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with communications counterparts, business partners, and functional partners to bring ApplyBoard's strategies and culture to life for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to change communications initiatives in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Drive best practices and processes for media relations and issues management within the team, department, and global communications community.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of ApplyBoard's internal and external communications channels.

Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in media relations.
  • Ability to consistently prioritize and deliver senior-level communications counsel to executives.
  • Strong business acumen and sound communications judgment to navigate ApplyBoard's ecosystem.
  • Develop strategies and recommendations that enhance and protect the ApplyBoard brand.
  • Exhibit behaviors aligned with ApplyBoard's leadership profile and risk appetite.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years in Corporate Communications, demonstrating a balance of external and internal experience.
  • A University Degree, preferably in journalism or public relations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in global/international communications.
