We are seeking a results-oriented communications leader for the role of AVP, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this individual will be responsible for developing and executing innovative internal and external communication strategies that engage employees, enhance ApplyBoard's brand, and align with our strategic business objectives.
Location: This position is remote, with occasional travel required for specific events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic communications counsel and execution to senior leadership within ApplyBoard.
- Support the engagement strategy and thought leadership of the President, including media relations and public speaking engagements.
- Shape and drive the narrative around strategic priorities for both internal and external audiences.
- Safeguard and enhance ApplyBoard's reputation through proactive public relations initiatives and effective issues management.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team of Corporate Communications professionals.
- Build strong partnerships with communications counterparts and business leaders to effectively communicate ApplyBoard's strategies and culture.
- Contribute to change management communications in collaboration with business leaders.
- Implement best practices for media relations and issues management across the communications team.
- Enhance the effectiveness of ApplyBoard's internal and external communication channels.

Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in media relations.
- Ability to provide senior-level communications counsel to executives.
- Strong business acumen and communication judgment to navigate ApplyBoard's ecosystem.
- Experience in developing strategies that enhance and protect the ApplyBoard brand.
- Exhibit behaviors aligned with ApplyBoard's leadership profile.
- Minimum of 12-15 years in Corporate Communications, with a balance of internal and external experience.
- A university degree, preferably in journalism or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in global or international communications.
