We are currently seeking a strategic leader for the role of AVP, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. This pivotal position will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and will be responsible for developing and executing innovative communication strategies that engage our workforce, safeguard and elevate ApplyBoard's brand, and align with our strategic business objectives.

Location: This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel required for specific engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver strategic communication counsel and execution plans to senior leadership within ApplyBoard.
  2. Support the President in enhancing engagement strategies and thought leadership, including managing media interactions and public speaking opportunities.
  3. Shape and drive the narrative surrounding our strategic priorities for both internal and external audiences.
  4. Enhance ApplyBoard's reputation through proactive public relations initiatives and effective issues management, serving as a spokesperson when necessary.
  5. Lead and develop a high-performing team of Corporate Communications professionals, fostering growth and enhancing ApplyBoard's communication capabilities.
  6. Build strong partnerships with communications counterparts and business leaders to effectively communicate ApplyBoard's strategies and culture.
  7. Contribute to change management communications in collaboration with business leaders.
  8. Implement best practices for media relations and issues management across the communications team and the broader organization.
  9. Enhance the effectiveness of ApplyBoard's internal and external communication channels.

Qualifications:
  1. Proven expertise in media relations.
  2. Ability to provide senior-level communication counsel to executives consistently.
  3. Strong business acumen and communication judgment to navigate ApplyBoard's ecosystem, including stakeholder perception management.
  4. Develop strategies that enhance and protect the ApplyBoard brand.
  5. Exhibit behaviors aligned with ApplyBoard's leadership profile and risk management approach.
  6. Minimum of 12-15 years of experience in Corporate Communications, balancing both internal and external communications.
  7. A University Degree, preferably in journalism or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in global or international communications.
