Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide consultative services to healthcare professionals, assess and develop educational programs, and promote expertise in nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultative services to healthcare professionals for clients with complex wound/ostomy care needs
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs within the clinical area
- Demonstrate and promote expertise and provide leadership in nursing practice
- Provide direct care to clients with wound/ostomy care needs
- Review policies, procedures, and reference materials and make recommendations for changes
- Promote the use of research findings into practice
- Participate in research activities related to wound/ostomy care and in the development of quality improvement initiatives
- Support nursing practices across PHC by participating in nursing and community committees
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives
- Two (2) years recent, related advanced wound/ostomy/continence care experience
- Successful completion of the Wound, Ostomy, Continence Institute of Canada (NSWOCC) - Wound, Ostomy, Continence Education Program (WOC-EP) or the Wound, Ostomy Continence Nurse Certificate (WOCN)
This is a full-time position that requires local area travel between various PHC sites. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19.
