Job Summary

As a Data Science co-op at Royal Bank of Canada, you will be assisting product owners, business stakeholders, data scientists, data engineers, and ML engineers with building AI solutions to solve business problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the exploration of data science opportunities across RBC Insurance business.
  • Conduct exploratory data analytics, preparation, and integration of large and various types of data (structured/non-structured).
  • Document and report advanced analytics and data science experiments.
  • Build and productionize AI/ML solutions using enterprise MLOps technologies.
Requirements
  • Progress towards a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or relevant fields.
  • Familiarity with ML concepts, NLP, and text analytics methods and packages.
  • Advanced Python coding skills and hands-on experience with data analysis packages such as Pandas and machine learning packages such as Scikit Learn.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Hands-on experience in developing end-to-end ML pipelines for solving real problems.
  • Knowledge and experience of different deep neural network architectures (RNN, CNN, seq2seq/Transformers), and Large Language Models.
  • Hands-on experience in deep learning development platforms such as Tensorflow, Keras, and PyTorch.
  • Experience with big data technologies - parallel processing techniques and Apache Spark, NoSQL/SQL databases.
  • Experience in working with cloud computing platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Snowflake, etc.
