The Director of Academic Programs and Curriculum plays a crucial role in academic leadership, focusing on the strategic advancement, execution, and ongoing enhancement of the institution's educational offerings and curricular frameworks. This position is essential for ensuring that academic programs are cohesive, comprehensive, and aligned with the institution's objectives. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with a deep understanding of academic standards, curriculum design, and innovative teaching methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Coordination in Academia:
  • Guide the design, assessment, and refinement of academic programs to uphold rigorous standards and ensure alignment with institutional objectives.
  • Encourage collaboration and synergy among various programs to enrich the overall academic experience.
  • Supervise the evaluation and enhancement of curricula to guarantee they meet high-quality standards and relevance.
  • Work closely with faculty to incorporate industry trends and best practices into the curriculum.
  • Engage in strategic planning initiatives and contribute to the formulation of academic policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that academic projects are in line with the institution's mission, vision, and strategic aims.
Support and Development for Faculty:
  • Provide guidance and assistance to faculty in curriculum design and teaching innovation.
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities focused on teaching, assessment, and academic leadership.
  • Foster an inclusive and collaborative academic atmosphere.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Monitor trends in higher education and propose strategies to enhance the institution's academic offerings.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry partners, accrediting organizations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Represent the institution at academic conferences, meetings, and other relevant events.
  • Promote the institution's academic programs to prospective students and partners.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an administrative leadership role within a higher education environment.
  • A PhD or other terminal degree with a proven record in research or teaching at the post-secondary level.
  • Experience in program development and instructional design.
  • Exceptional skills in written and verbal communication, along with the ability to cultivate interpersonal relationships.
  • Experience in conceptualizing, developing, implementing, and overseeing academic programs' curricular processes while collaboratively leading and supporting faculty.
  • Ability to effectively engage with a diverse range of individuals, maintaining professionalism and sound judgment in challenging conversations and situations.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience with online and hybrid learning formats.
  • A proven history of fostering innovation in curriculum and program development.
  • Familiarity with data-driven decision-making and educational technology.
