We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Faculty Member to join our team at Yorkville University. As a Sessional Professor, you will be responsible for teaching and facilitating counselling psychology theory and skills courses, fostering student success, and managing online learning activities.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and deliver high-quality course materials, lectures, and assessments for counselling psychology theory and skills courses.
- Student Support and Success: Provide ongoing support and coaching to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Online Learning Management: Manage online learning activities, discussion forums, and learning materials through the Brightspace platform.
- Assessment and Feedback: Timely mark and provide feedback on student assessments, ensuring high-quality academic standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Respond to student inquiries and concerns, coordinate with Practicum Supervisors, and facilitate online synchronous activities.
- Administrative Tasks: Perform administrative tasks related to the course, including record-keeping and reporting.
- A conferred Doctorate degree in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in counselling, psychology, psychotherapy, or a related field.
- Active clinical practice registration/certification/license with an appropriate professional regulatory body or association.
- Teaching experience at the graduate level is a strong asset.
- Experience using online learning platforms, such as Brightspace, is a strong asset.
