Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Secretary to join our team at the Op-Oncology Clinic. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to our clinical team, ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and staff, responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries.
  • Coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient communication with patients and clinical staff.
  • Manage patient records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in our electronic health record system.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting materials, minutes, and other documents as required.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 graduation from a recognized secretarial program, including a recognized course in medical transcription, and three years' recent related experience.
  • Ability to keyboard at 50 wpm and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor under pressure.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
