Adjunct Faculty in Communications

Georgian College is in search of part-time instructors to deliver courses in Communications within the Liberal Arts department. As an educator at our institution, you will have the chance to leverage your enthusiasm for teaching and share your extensive industry knowledge by fostering a supportive and effective educational atmosphere that empowers students to reach their maximum academic potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conducting a range of communications courses
• Designing and implementing suitable curriculum to fulfill course learning objectives
• Utilizing diverse teaching and learning methods to accommodate student needs
• Assessing student progress and performance
• Engaging in program, portfolio, and institutional activities as necessary
• Contributing to program development and enhancement initiatives as required
• Establishing and sustaining a positive educational environment
Required Qualifications:
• Relevant post-secondary education in a related field, such as Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations
• Proven experience in teaching, coaching, or advising in areas related to communications
• Strong knowledge and expertise in literacy
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities
• Demonstrated capability to engage with diverse student populations
• Experience in driving change and fostering innovation
• A commitment to continuous learning
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high comfort level with learning new software, including student learning management systems and various teaching delivery platforms.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and encourage the same in students.
• Experience in curriculum development, diverse delivery methods, learning strategies, academic advising, and student success initiatives is an asset
• Certification in Teaching and Training Adults and/or experience in a teaching or training role is advantageous
• Proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
