Georgian College is in search of part-time instructors to teach courses in Communications. As a member of our academic staff, you will have the chance to engage your enthusiasm for education and share your extensive industry knowledge by fostering a nurturing and effective learning atmosphere that empowers students to reach their highest academic potential.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


• Delivering a diverse range of courses in communications

• Designing and implementing suitable curricula to achieve course objectives

• Utilizing various teaching and learning methods to accommodate student needs

• Assessing student progress and performance

• Engaging in program, portfolio, and institutional activities as necessary

• Contributing to program evaluation and enhancement initiatives as required

• Cultivating and sustaining a positive educational environment

Qualifications:
Required:

• Relevant post-secondary education in a related field, such as Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations

• Proven experience in teaching, coaching, or advising in communications-related subjects

• Strong knowledge and expertise in literacy

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities

• Demonstrated capability to work with diverse student demographics

• Experience in driving change and fostering innovation

• A commitment to continuous learning

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a high comfort level with new software, including learning management systems and various educational delivery tools.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting and inspire the same in students.

• Experience in curriculum development, diverse delivery methods, learning strategies, academic advising, and student success initiatives is an asset

• Certification in Teaching and Training Adults or experience in an educational role is advantageous
Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
