Trade Supervisor Mechanic

Job Summary:
Lakes District Maintenance is seeking a skilled Trade Supervisor Mechanic to oversee and coordinate mechanical maintenance and repair activities in a construction setting. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment, while providing leadership and management skills to our direct employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate mechanical maintenance and repair activities, ensuring timely completion of projects and meeting production standards.
- Lead and manage a team of direct employees, providing guidance and support to ensure effective work execution.
- Communicate with employees, supervisors, administrators, and management personnel to discuss work projects and requirements.
- Conduct related supervisory functions, including scheduling, organization, and resource utilization.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or formal education consistent with requirements for entry into apprenticeship vocational training or equivalent.
- Completion of apprenticeship vocational training in the respective or related trade, with a valid Certificate of Qualification issued by the BC Ministry of Labour or the approved equivalent.
- Valid BC driver's license of the appropriate class required to conduct related trade functions (Class 3 with air brake endorsement preferred).
- Some training in basic supervisory and organizational procedures training program.
- Ability to read and interpret related technical information and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the work involved.
