Dease Lake, Canada Lakes District Maintenance Full time

Lakes District Maintenance Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Dease Lake, BC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on our specialized construction equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled journeyman level mechanical work according to industry standards.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Assist and direct the efforts of other employees, including apprentices, as needed.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of our equipment and systems to ensure efficient and effective maintenance.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a registered apprenticeship with a valid Certificate of Qualification issued by the Industrial Training Authority, or the approved equivalent, for the trade.
  • CVIP Inspection License or ability to obtain a CVIP Inspection License to perform CVIs.
  • Valid BC driver's license of the appropriate class required to carry out the related trade functions (Class 3 with air endorsement preferred).
  • Knowledge of the highway maintenance industry an asset, but not required.
