Position Overview: Clinical Mentor Nurse
As a Clinical Mentor Nurse at Brightshores, you will be instrumental in guiding nurses as they transition into their professional roles. Your contributions will be vital in promoting health, evaluating health conditions, and delivering care to patients in medical settings, ensuring they achieve their highest potential for well-being. We seek seasoned nurses with practical experience to join our team and provide essential mentorship to newly graduated nurses. The new nurses you will support include recent nursing graduates, internationally educated nurses (IENs), and those looking to enhance their skills.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
Essential:
- Active Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Completion of a Physical Assessment course
- CC1 certification or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of relevant medical experience within the past five years
- Experience in oncology and palliative care nursing within the last two years
- Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and managing associated side effects
- Ability to perform venipunctures for IV establishment
- Expertise in central line care and maintenance of TPN
- Strong communication and patient assessment capabilities
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and patient safety
Desirable:
- Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
- BCLS certification
- Additional training in palliative care and oncology
- Diverse medical experience is preferred
- Oncology Certification
