Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Brightshores. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting health, assessing, providing care, and treating health conditions in medical patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patient health conditions to develop effective care plans.
- Provide supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care to patients.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Administer medications, perform venipunctures, and manage IV lines.
- Develop and implement patient education programs to promote health and wellness.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to unit-specific projects.
- Adhere to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
Requirements:
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Physical Assessment course.
- CC1 or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of medical experience within the last five years.
- Oncology and palliative care nursing experience within the last two years.
- Experience in administration of chemotherapy drugs and management of side effects.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to a rapidly changing population.
- Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Interviewing and patient assessment skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Baccalaureate Degree in nursing.
- BCLS certification.
- Additional education pertaining to palliative care and oncology.
- Broad medical experience preferred.
- Oncology Certificate.
