Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Brightshores. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for promoting health, assessing, providing care, and treating health conditions in medical patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient health conditions to develop effective care plans.
  • Provide supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative care to patients.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Administer medications, perform venipunctures, and manage IV lines.
  • Develop and implement patient education programs to promote health and wellness.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to unit-specific projects.
  • Adhere to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.

Requirements:

  • Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Physical Assessment course.
  • CC1 or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of medical experience within the last five years.
  • Oncology and palliative care nursing experience within the last two years.
  • Experience in administration of chemotherapy drugs and management of side effects.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to a rapidly changing population.
  • Leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interviewing and patient assessment skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in nursing.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Additional education pertaining to palliative care and oncology.
  • Broad medical experience preferred.
  • Oncology Certificate.
