Research Support for Thrive Program at Open Door Group Services Society

Douglas College is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Research Assistant to contribute to an exciting research project in collaboration with the Thrive program at Open Door Group Services Society. Under the guidance of Dr. Colleen Reid, you will play a vital role in advancing our understanding of therapeutic recreation, mental health, employment, skills training, and peer work.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of academic literature across various disciplines related to the project's focus areas.
  • Meticulously track and input collected research materials using specialized bibliography software.
  • Compile a comprehensive annotated bibliography summarizing key findings from your literature review.
  • Engage in conducting, transcribing, coding, and analyzing interviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in research team meetings and contribute to the drafting of manuscripts for publication.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should be a current student or recent graduate with a strong foundation in research methodologies. Prior research experience is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Domestic students must meet specific enrollment requirements at Douglas College or another accredited public post-secondary institution in British Columbia.
  • International students must fulfill the necessary criteria for full-time studies and possess a valid Study Permit.

Preference:

Qualified Douglas College students who meet the eligibility criteria will be given priority consideration for this position.
