Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate telephone contact with members who are off work due to medical reasons to determine if early intervention services could be of assistance.

  • Based on discussions with the members about the reasons they are off work, determine if any other intervention would be beneficial to their current treatment and/or assist with their potential to return to their pre-disability position. This may include a variety of different services and support varying in complexity.
  • Communicate with service providers, attending physicians, employers and affiliate representatives to ensure an accurate understanding of member's vocational and medical needs.

This includes defining the nature of these services and their policy limitations, clearly outlining the responsibilities of the service provider, member and insurance carrier, and communicating information and professional knowledge, as required.
  • Liaise with the Disability Analysts and Rehabilitation Consultants to facilitate treatment and/or return to work plans during the waiting period.
Requirements
  • A university degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Medical Rehabilitation or a related subject, or an allied health designation or equivalent certification.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in a related field.
  • RRP or the ability to obtain this certification.
