Job Summary:

The VP Sales Canada is a senior leadership role responsible for driving profitable revenue growth and market capture in Canada. This position oversees the organization's sales activities across Canada, developing and executing strategies to significantly grow the business across top clients and market segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Execute Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies that successfully achieve revenue and gross profit goals.
  2. Lead and Mentor Sales Team: Lead and mentor the sales team, including sales managers and account executives, to enhance their skills and performance.
  3. Develop Training Programs: Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team.
  4. Analyze Sales Performance: Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, systems, costs, and results to inform strategic decisions.
  5. Establish Goals and Objectives: Establish and implement short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures to drive sales excellence.
  6. Identify New Market Opportunities: Identify new market opportunities and develop plans to penetrate these markets.
  7. Monitor Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
  8. Set Performance Expectations: Set clear performance expectations and KPIs for the sales team.
  9. Build Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
  10. Oversee Customer Engagement: Oversee the development of customer engagement strategies to drive sales growth.
  11. Optimize Sales Processes: Optimize sales processes and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  12. Utilize CRM Systems: Utilize CRM systems to manage sales activities and data.
  13. Analyze Sales Data: Analyze sales data and generate reports to provide insights to senior management.
  14. Make Data-Driven Decisions: Use data to make informed decisions about sales strategies and tactics.
  15. Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, product development, and customer service, to align efforts and maximize sales opportunities.
  16. Contribute to Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the overall growth strategy of the company.
  17. Stay Informed about Market Trends: Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
  18. Lead Sales Staff: Effectively manage sales budget, including revenue, gross profit, and expense targets, and lead the sales staff to achieve sales excellence.
  19. Recruit and Develop Sales Team: Recruit, hire, manage, and develop a world-class sales organization.
  20. Compensation Structure: Develop and implement a sales compensation structure that motivates and rewards sales staff for desired performance.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; MBA is highly desirable.
  2. Experience: 10-12 years in sales management in a consulting, high-tech, or service-related industry.
  3. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills in teamwork and communication across multiple organizations.
  4. Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of IT products and services.
  5. Proven Track Record: Proven track record of consistently exceeding corporate objectives and quotas.
  6. Client Experience: Experience working and winning with mid-market and enterprise clients.
  7. Strategic Planning: Experience in strategic planning and execution, including knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  8. Sales Methodology: Experience in implementing sales methodology that drives solutions and services.
  9. Communication Skills: Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  10. Flexibility: Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  11. Bilingual: Bilingual – French and English – highly desirable.
