We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Matthew wood finishing. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Measure and cut materials to precise specifications
  • Assemble and join materials to create complex structures
  • Install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fabricate and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Maintain and repair residences and wooden structures in various settings
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in carpentry
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials
Preferred Qualifications
  • Participation in government or community programs supporting newcomers, refugees, youth, and Indigenous people
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations
