About the Role

Carpenter Canada Co. is seeking a skilled Pouring Engineer to join our team at our Toronto manufacturing plant. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and quality-focused production of foam products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Organize and coordinate manufacturing activities in the pouring department to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  2. Train, guide, and coach hourly workers and lead persons to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  3. Enforce health and safety rules and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  4. Monitor and maintain quality program standards and records keeping requirements.
  5. Review production schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure productivity levels and operational objectives are met.
  6. Collaborate with the Technical Support Group at RTC to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  7. Lead chemical release remediation activities and maintain production reports.
  8. Conduct periodic observations in manufacturing areas to enforce health & safety standards.
  9. Review and approve personnel time records on a daily basis.
  10. Apply Kaizen continuous improvement methods to achieve goals and improve processes.
  11. Maintain applied knowledge of relevant SAP transactions and company's H&S and quality management system.
Requirements
  1. Leadership abilities to coach employees and boost morale.
  2. Employee training skills and experience.
  3. A strong working knowledge of safety regulations related to manufacturing business.
  4. Excellent attention to detail.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication.
  6. Ability to work with a team and independently in a time-sensitive environment.
  7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  8. SAP experience is an asset.
