Position Summary

The Project Director is accountable for overseeing the delivery of Chandos' construction services for designated projects, leading a team of project managers. This role is pivotal in driving business growth through support for Business Development initiatives. The Project Director is responsible for mentoring and guiding multiple project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and performance metrics.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project teams to achieve objectives and enhance team capabilities.
  • Provide strategic direction, oversee team development, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Encourage open communication and collaboration, ensuring alignment with corporate vision and strategy.
  • Assess project resource needs, manage bidding processes, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Engage in business development activities, manage client relationships, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, liaise with project stakeholders, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to project management methodologies and safety standards.
  • Oversee project execution, including risk assessment, milestone tracking, and project close-out.
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and oversee third-party engagements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in the construction field.
  • PQS designation, trade certification, or a business degree is advantageous.
  • Gold Seal Certification (GSC) is mandatory.
  • Understanding of LEED principles is preferred.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of experience in commercial construction.
  • At least ten years of direct experience in construction project management.
  • Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, legislation, and building codes.
