Position Overview

The Project Director is accountable for overseeing the execution of Chandos' construction services for designated projects, both directly and through a team of project managers. This role is pivotal in driving business growth through support of Business Development initiatives. The Project Director is tasked with developing, leading, coaching, and mentoring multiple project teams to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Guide, mentor, and develop project teams to achieve project deliverables and enhance team capabilities.
  • Provide strategic direction, facilitate team development, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Encourage open communication and collaboration, aligning with the organization's strategic vision.
  • Assess project resource needs, oversee bidding processes, and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Engage in business development activities, manage client relationships, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings, liaise with project stakeholders, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Ensure adherence to project management protocols and safety standards.
  • Oversee project execution, including risk assessment, milestone tracking, and project close-out.
  • Monitor project progress, manage budgets, and oversee third-party activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent experience in the construction field.
  • PQS designation, trade certification, or a business degree is advantageous.
  • Gold Seal Certification (GSC) is mandatory.
  • Understanding of LEED principles is preferred.
  • A minimum of fifteen years of experience in commercial construction.
  • At least ten years of direct experience in construction project management.
  • Familiarity with local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, legislation, and building codes.
