The Role: The mission of the Application Solutions Specialist is to enhance understanding of BGO's applications and their functionalities, ensuring our leading-edge applications are optimized to propel our global enterprise forward. This role is crucial in refining business processes and involves collaboration with BGO's Project Management Office and Development teams, as well as close interaction with business users to enhance application satisfaction and effectiveness, facilitating high-performing business operations and growth. To succeed, the Application Solutions Specialist must become an expert in the application, capable of addressing complex inquiries, and work alongside the Product Manager to maintain application configurations and controls while overseeing support and consulting teams.

The Application Solutions Specialist is part of the Product Management Team within the Business Enablement and Innovation Group at BentallGreenOak (BGO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate efficient business processes for BGO's Yardi property management and accounting platform. Collaborate with the Yardi Product Manager to align with our global business operations partners.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to translate product strategy into actionable enhancements and lead product updates and new feature launches.
  • Evaluate information from various sources, resolve conflicts, and translate high-level information into actionable business requirements.
  • Work with third-party vendors and internal developers to ensure successful issue resolution and enhancement implementation.
  • Define and implement integrations in partnership with the system development team, and develop documentation and data maps.
  • Create report specifications and test developed reports prior to deployment to the business.
  • Contribute to understanding and communicating enhancements associated with upgrades.

Business Process Improvement:

  • Continuously enhance operational practices and update or create documentation to support business workflows.
  • Develop and execute test scripts to support application modifications.
  • Attend vendor demonstrations and user conferences to stay updated on system capabilities, analyzing new functionalities for optimal system use.
  • Cultivate end-user relationships and system expertise to form strategic partnerships with business teams.
  • Monitor and coordinate systems and data extracts to support annual compliance engagements.

Data Standards Implementation:

  • Become proficient in the data structures within the product, understanding data lineage and dependencies with BGO's application inventory.
  • Support the Data Governance team by executing BGO data standards and maintaining application master data tables and integration points across BGO systems.

System Administration and Support:

  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to administer the system and implement necessary controls.
  • Ensure timely resolution of business issues, prioritizing activities based on business impact.
  • Monitor application and integration performance, overseeing issue resolution as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively support BGO's commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
  • Participate in special projects and ad-hoc assignments as required.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Yardi platform is essential.
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in product analysis, consulting, or business analysis.
  • Proficiency in accounting, business processes, property management, or other real estate software is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • A criminal verification check is required for employment.
