Job Summary:

Equinox Engineering Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead our mechanical team on oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical team on EPCM projects in the oil and gas industry with 7-15 years of experience.
  • Check and approve mechanical engineer deliverables.
  • Monitor project schedule and budget for all mechanical deliverables.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines to ensure coordinated design.
  • Specify, evaluate, and select oil and gas processing equipment.
  • Provide comprehensive design services, including establishing design criteria and preparing specifications, drawings, and bills of material.
  • Prepare engineering scope of work packages and work with vendors to supply mechanical equipment.
  • Check vendor equipment drawings for design accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Interface with clients, project team, and vendors to define project scope, resolve technical issues, and assist with procurement documents.
  • Ensure consistency and integrity of all major equipment in accordance with codes and specifications.
  • Proficient in ASME Sec. VIII, CSA Z662, ASME B31.3, TEMA, and API codes.
  • Experience with NACE standards and its application.

Requirements:

  • Supervisory skills in a lead position.
  • Package engineering experience is a must.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Conventional oil, heavy oil, and SAGD or sweet and sour gas project experience is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in specifying and procurement of mechanical equipment and packages.

Education and Qualifications:

  • APPEG P. Eng. – Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Minimum 7 – 15 years oil and gas experience – EPCM background preferred.
  • Equipment package engineering is a must.
  • Excellent working knowledge of static and rotating equipment design.
  • Familiar with ABSA and AER requirements.
  • Applicable knowledge with codes (CSA, ASME, API).
