Job Title: Educational Assistant Floater

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant Floater to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As an Educational Assistant Floater, you will provide support to students with exceptional needs in various schools across the district.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities
  • Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implement special programs
  • Support students with learning disabilities, speech/language issues, and other exceptional needs
  • Modify programs and support learning for students with diverse needs
  • Perform outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties as required
Requirements:
  • Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-2 years of related experience with school-aged special needs children
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum and educational communication software such as Dragon and Kurzweil
  • Arabic language skills
What We Offer:
  • A competitive hourly rate of $28.42 to $35.70
  • A 10-month work year with 100% regular hours
  • A personal vehicle is required for travel between schools
  • Mileage reimbursement in accordance with PR. 529. FIN (Expense Procedure)
