Job Title: Educational Assistant Floater

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Educational Assistant Floater to join our team. As an integral member of our school community, you will provide support to students with exceptional needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and students with developmental disabilities
  • Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implementing special programs
  • Support deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students, physiotherapy exercises, and stretches
  • Modify programs and support learning for students with learning disabilities and speech/language issues
  • Perform outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties
Requirements:
  • Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience with school-aged special needs children
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Completed Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, and/or Behaviour Management Systems (BMS) training
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Ontario Curriculum and educational communication software such as Dragon and Kurzweil
  • Arabic language skills
