In this role, you will be tasked with the design, development, and testing of new and modified products, mechanical parts, machinery, and equipment, guiding them from initial concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and prioritize various projects from the conceptual phase to the production phase.
- Collaborate with the Chief Engineer, clients, suppliers, and other departments to deliver product designs that align with the project's technical specifications, ensuring timely and cost-effective project completion.
- Design and enhance mechanical components for automotive applications.
- Conduct measurements and reverse engineering of automotive and industrial components.
- Create manufacturing drawings in compliance with relevant standards.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Evaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and executing research programs.
- Document product designs by preparing bills of materials, drawings, and engineering change requests.
- Ensure product and system quality by developing testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
- Provide engineering insights by addressing inquiries and requests.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance the quality and efficiency of design work, such as exploring new features in software and developing strategies to minimize or automate routine tasks.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Mechanical Design, with 2-5 years in a manufacturing setting, preferably within the automotive sector.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong practical knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, particularly laser cutting and bending.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to resolve issues and maintain project timelines.
- In-depth knowledge of GD&T, ISO standards, and engineering procedures.
- Familiarity with the preparation of bills of materials (BOM).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective time management skills.
