POSITION SUMMARY:
The Harm Reduction Support Worker plays a crucial role in providing a wide array of low-barrier support services to individuals engaged in harm reduction programs. This position focuses on delivering evidence-based educational interventions and harm reduction strategies aimed at enhancing awareness around substance use, overdose prevention, and sexual health.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Distribute harm reduction supplies and facilitate recovery efforts.
2. Utilize assessment and crisis intervention skills to address immediate needs and connect clients with appropriate community resources.
3. Offer educational resources on safer substance use practices and sexual health.
4. Assess and respond to overdose situations, including administering Naloxone as necessary.
5. Conduct overdose prevention training and distribute Naloxone to clients and partner organizations.
6. Support peer-led initiatives and manage honoraria payments.
7. Maintain safety protocols in program spaces and collaborate with partner agencies to ensure comprehensive service delivery.
8. Keep accurate electronic records and compile necessary reports.
9. Engage in program planning and evaluation as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma in health or social services or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of two years in harm reduction settings.
- First Aid certification and experience in crisis response.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
- Knowledge of community-based programs and support systems.
- Experience working within a harm reduction framework, particularly in marginalized communities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse populations.

- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
- Experience in conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
