ROLE OVERVIEW

We are in search of a dedicated DevOps Engineer to enhance our operations based in Montreal, Quebec.

As the inaugural DevOps engineer on our team, you will collaborate with fellow engineers to guarantee the reliability, usability, and security of our cloud systems. Our software platform facilitates over 500,000 virtual patient consultations annually, and our engineering team implements software updates daily. You will also play a crucial role in establishing best practices for DevOps within the engineering department.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enhance and manage our monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
  2. Oversee and refine CI/CD tools.
  3. Maintain and optimize our cloud infrastructure.
  4. Utilize metrics to inform decisions regarding scaling and cost management of cloud resources.
  5. Ensure the security and compliance of systems in accordance with company standards (HIPAA, ISO).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or related role.
  2. Proven experience in establishing and maintaining monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog, NewRelic, Grafana, Zabbix).
  3. Experience with cloud infrastructure management, preferably AWS.
  4. Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
  5. Strong Linux system administration skills.
  6. Proficient programming abilities.
  7. In-depth knowledge of cloud security practices.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
  2. Experience in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  3. Experience in a CI/CD setting for automated testing and deployment.
  4. Familiarity with the Ruby programming language.
  5. Understanding of the healthcare sector and HIPAA regulations.
  6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

In line with our core values, Circle Medical offers transparent salary structures based on geographic location (San Francisco, Montreal, or International Remote Contract), performance levels, and options for equity compensation.

This is a full-time, salaried position located in Montreal, Quebec, with an annual compensation package (including cash and stock) ranging from CAD$130,000 to $197,000, along with generous vacation time and comprehensive medical/dental benefits.
