POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer to enhance our operations from our Montreal office.

As the inaugural DevOps engineer on our team, you will collaborate with fellow engineers to ensure the reliability, usability, and security of our cloud systems. Our software platform facilitates over 500,000 virtual patient consultations annually, and our engineering team implements software updates daily. You will also play a pivotal role in establishing best practices for DevOps within the engineering division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Enhance and manage our monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks.
  2. Oversee and optimize CI/CD tools.
  3. Maintain and upgrade our cloud infrastructure.
  4. Utilize metrics to guide decisions regarding scaling and cost management of cloud resources.
  5. Ensure systems' security and compliance to meet organizational standards (HIPAA, ISO).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps role or a related field.
  2. Proficient in establishing and maintaining monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog, NewRelic, Grafana, Zabbix).
  3. Experience with cloud infrastructure management, preferably in AWS.
  4. Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
  5. Strong Linux system administration skills.
  6. Proficient programming capabilities.
  7. Comprehensive understanding of cloud security principles.

PREFERRED ATTRIBUTES:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
  2. Experience in a rapidly growing startup environment.
  3. Experience in a CI/CD setting for automated testing and deployment.
  4. Knowledge of the Ruby programming language.
  5. Understanding of the healthcare sector and HIPAA regulations.
  6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

In line with our core values, Circle Medical maintains transparent salary structures based on geographic location (San Francisco, Montreal, or International Remote Contract), performance levels, and options for equity compensation.

This is a full-time, salaried position based in Montreal, Quebec, offering an annual compensation package (cash and stock combined) ranging from CAD$130,000 to $197,000, along with generous vacation and comprehensive medical/dental benefits, depending on the working location.
