We are looking for an Experienced Financial Consultant to be part of our Island Savings team.

The Financial Consultant delivers outstanding customer service to a designated group of clients by providing a comprehensive suite of investment, deposit, and intricate lending solutions. This role involves recognizing the financial lifecycle of clients and offering tailored solutions to their financial requirements, or directing them to the appropriate specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Engagement: Develops strong connections with existing and prospective clients; assesses client life stages and offers financial guidance or refers them to the right specialist. Manages a designated client portfolio (typically with $100,000 to $500,000 in investable assets) through proactive outreach, ensuring that current and future needs are identified and addressed.
  • Transaction Management: Handles a wide array of complex client transactions, including but not limited to: mutual fund products and services; retail mortgages, personal and RRSP loans; establishing personal or business accounts, debit/credit cards, lines of credit/overdraft protection, and associated insurance products.
  • Branch Objectives: Contributes to the accomplishment of annual branch targets and goals through proactive promotion of financial products and services, participation in branch initiatives, and actively seeks potential cross-selling and referral opportunities during interactions with clients or the general public. Achieves set annual sales and referral goals.
  • Team Support: Guides other branch personnel in understanding lending and investment products and services; provides assistance and advice to colleagues with client matters in the absence of management.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Utilizes the daily operational framework as a guideline to prioritize and manage schedules, aligning efforts to achieve goals while delivering a remarkable and consistent client experience across Island Savings. Other responsibilities as assigned by branch leadership.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Diploma from a College or Technical School (2 years) in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Mutual Funds License is mandatory
  • Must complete the internal certification program specific to this role within the designated timeframe
  • PFP designation is preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Financial Consultant role, or equivalent
  • Proven ability to conduct complex advisory conversations across various financial areas
  • Demonstrated capability to identify needs, recommend suitable products, and foster strong client relationships
  • Proven history of meeting or exceeding sales targets in retail lending and investment products and services
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and resolve issues using sound judgment
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and banking software
  • Displays an understanding of risk management and adheres to policies and procedures.

Compensation Transparency

Salary Range: $55,200 - $70,700
