Job Title: Deskside Support Technician

We are seeking an experienced Deskside Support Technician to join our team in St. John's, Newfoundland for a 3-month contract period.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide desktop and end-user support to ensure accessibility of client tools and applications.
  • Identify and resolve level 1 incidents, escalating to outside vendors or the SDC for level 2 support as needed.
  • Support all facets of server administration, including logins, passwords, patching, backups, and restores at the local site.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Manage adds, moves, and changes of all users at the local center.
  • Participate in Change Implementation Management (CIM) and submit change control documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Manage IT asset inventory and disposal in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Ensure site software compliance.
  • Provide remote support and act as a backup for power infrastructure.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MCSE preferred, MCP required.
  • Cisco, VOIP, and Aruba wireless experience a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP.
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 server management applications.

This position provides incident management level 1 support and is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for all servers and systems in the designated site, implementing systems security and policies.
