We are seeking an experienced Deskside Support Technician to join our team in St. John's, Newfoundland for a 3-month contract period.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide desktop and end-user support to ensure accessibility of client tools and applications.
- Identify and resolve level 1 incidents, escalating to outside vendors or the SDC for level 2 support as needed.
- Support all facets of server administration, including logins, passwords, patching, backups, and restores at the local site.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checklists accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage adds, moves, and changes of all users at the local center.
- Participate in Change Implementation Management (CIM) and submit change control documentation in accordance with organizational standards.
- Manage IT asset inventory and disposal in accordance with organizational standards.
- Ensure site software compliance.
- Provide remote support and act as a backup for power infrastructure.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- MCSE preferred, MCP required.
- Cisco, VOIP, and Aruba wireless experience a plus.
- Basic knowledge of TCP/IP.
- Strong analytical and diagnostic skills.
- Knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 server management applications.
This position provides incident management level 1 support and is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for all servers and systems in the designated site, implementing systems security and policies.
