- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve exceptional patient care.
- Utilize Meditech, MS Exchange, MS Word, and CCIS to manage administrative tasks efficiently.
- Develop and implement scheduling practices for union and non-union staff, ensuring compliance with collective agreements.
- Interpret and apply human resource policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
- Set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with various hospital departments, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Graduate of a community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience.
- Critical Care services or Business Clerk experience preferred.
- Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent.
- Keyboarding 40 WPM, subject to testing.
- Demonstrated skill in using Meditech, MS Exchange, MS Word, and CCIS.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement scheduling practices related to union and non-union staff.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and consistently apply human resource policies and procedures, collective agreement language.
- Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly.
- Mathematical skills related to patient billing.
- Demonstrated effective communication (verbal & written), interpersonal, public relations, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position.
- Ability to sit for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
