About the Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the operation of the Calgary Crown Prosecutors' Office, overseeing the administration of criminal justice according to law.
  • Lead and mentor a team of senior prosecutors, promoting standardized application of policy and legislation.
  • Develop and implement innovative recommendations to influence changes to policies and procedures impacting initiatives department-wide.
  • Foster a collaborative approach to the investigation and prosecution of criminal cases, building linkages across government, with police and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute as a member of the Service's senior management team, providing sound advice to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Alberta Crown Prosecution Service.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15+ years of senior assessed legal experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years in a senior management role.
  • Budget and financial planning experience.
  • Human resources experience.

Requirements

  • A law degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation.
  • Working understanding of project management and change management practices and principles.
