Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Engineer to join our team at Ford Motor Company. As an Embedded Systems Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing infotainment system software for our in-vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and develop infotainment system software using QNX and Android frameworks
  • Design and implement software solutions for in-vehicle infotainment systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and implement product features
  • Develop software using C++, Java/Kotlin, and C programming languages
  • Utilize software development and productivity tools such as QNX Momentics and Android Studio
  • Perform automotive software development applying automotive standards
  • Develop native applications for Android using NDK and native daemons
  • Develop C++ applications on Windows using Visual Studio and supporting toolchain
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field of study
  • 5-8+ years of experience in software development on embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms
  • 3+ years of experience developing software for in-vehicle infotainment systems
  • 2+ years of experience developing software using QNX or Linux operating systems
  • Experience with software development and productivity tools
  • Ability to define system requirements and implement product features
  • Experience with automotive product development processes and quality standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across multiple teams
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with software development for one or more infotainment middleware modules
  • Experience with native development on Android (NDK, native daemons, working with HAL interfaces)
  • Experience with C++ development on Windows (Visual Studio and supporting toolchain)
  • Creative and inventive mindset with ability to derive and implement new features using emerging product technologies and data analytics
