Senior Trainer Job Description

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Trainer to join its provincial team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the implementation and support of Connect Care Clinical Information Systems (CIS) initiative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to define, plan, implement, and evaluate learning requirements for a comprehensive training plan.
  • Develop and facilitate learning materials for end-users, including trainers and superusers.
  • Work with the Connect Care Learning team to ensure smooth change management with minimal disruption to clinical operations.
  • Provide effective communication and direction to ensure accurate provision of accounts in alignment with role/competency-based access model.
  • Support the role assignment by operations of users into Connect Care.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with experience in healthcare, particularly in areas requiring triage (such as Health link) or supporting Cancer Care.
  • A minimum of 10 years of direct experience in clinical roles in the provision of healthcare or a strong working knowledge and intimate understanding of healthcare delivery.
  • Membership in good standing with appropriate professional organization (i.e., CRNA, SOAT, CPTA, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of the Alberta Health Services and the Clinical Information function.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of clinical workflows and triaging along with Alberta Health Services as an organization, with emphasis on triage and Cancer Care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Epic or other CIS application curriculum development and training experience.
  • Current Epic Principal Trainer Certification.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
