Position Overview:

About the Division:
The Information and Instructional Technology (IIT) team plays a vital role in supporting the technological needs of faculty and staff. We collaborate closely with various departments to implement and maintain essential IT services that enhance the educational experience and operational efficiency.

Role Summary:
As a Senior Application Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of complex software applications that serve the University community. You will work under the guidance of the Senior Manager of Applications and Development, contributing to the strategic direction of application services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide development initiatives to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide mentorship and technical support to fellow developers, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement web-based applications and workflows.
  • Document user requirements and prepare detailed project plans and reports.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of applications to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Facilitate the migration of legacy systems to modern technologies.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot application issues, proposing enhancements and optimizations.
  • Research and assess new software solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in software development, with a focus on complex, multi-tier applications.
  • Proficient in integrating databases with web technologies and experienced in Service-Oriented Architecture.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as PHP, Java, and Python, along with experience in database management systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and agile development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
