This is a senior leadership position within the Technology and Operations division of RBC, responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of high-performing software applications.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the development and delivery of mission-critical software applications, ensuring they meet the required standards and timelines.
- Direct the work of development teams, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Make strategic architectural decisions for relevant applications, aligning with the company's technology strategy and roadmap.
- Shape the future technology direction of Finance IT, including front, middle, and back office operations.
- Ensure the stability, performance, and compliance of applications in the portfolio, as well as their development initiatives.
- Contribute to successful project completion within budget and on time, identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Strong understanding of IBM Planning Analytics/TM1, Oracle-PCMCS, Big Data, and Full Stack Programming products.
- Good understanding of Enterprise Performance Management concepts, including Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Consolidation, and Cost Allocations.
- Infrastructure knowledge, including Client/Server, SaaS, Mainframe, and DevOps.
- Experience in leading large teams, with a strong handle on SDLC concepts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present to executive-level audiences.
- Professional experience on multiple projects with multiple interfaces and/or 3rd-party software packages.
- 10-12 years of demonstrated leadership experience managing, motivating, and providing mentorship to resources on high-performing IT development teams.
- Understanding and technical knowledge in cross-platform and cross-database spaces.
- Experience with multi-tier system development for large enterprises.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills, with the ability to operate as a leading member of global distributed technical teams.
