Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Swine Operations Manager to join our team in Elgin, MB. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing overall barn and yard site, managing staff, and performing various duties related to swine production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall barn and yard site, ensuring efficient and safe operations
  • Manage staff, delegate duties, and perform coaching plans to ensure high productivity and quality
  • Order feed and carry out feeding programs to optimize swine growth and health
  • Select, sort, and load pigs for transport to ensure timely and safe delivery
  • Prep rooms for barn wash and animal entry, and perform minor maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Receive pigs, perform health checks, and treat livestock health issues promptly
  • Maintain livestock performance records, and carry out feeding and vaccination programs to ensure optimal swine health
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and well-organized with excellent communication skills
  • Good work ethic and ability to work well with others
  • Minimum 2-year swine tech experience, preferably in a similar role
