About the Role:

The Maintenance Assistant/Shop Hand plays a vital part in the Maintenance Team at Bison Transport, responsible for performing quick lube services, minor mechanical repairs, and other duties in an efficient and timely manner. As a team player, you will work collaboratively with the Maintenance Department to ensure the smooth operation of our equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quick lube program
  • Minor repairs
  • Tractor detailing and sanitization
  • Decal removal
  • Daily, weekly, and monthly checklists
  • General shop and yard cleanup
  • Customer and internal DPF filter cleaning
  • Assistance in other departments as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Valid G/Class 5 driver's license
  • Minimum Grade 12 or enrolled in a High School Apprenticeship Program
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to perform manual labor
  • Adaptable and able to work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Capable of multi-tasking and achieving required deadlines

Shift Schedule:

  • Weekdays: Monday to Thursday from 5:30 – 16:00
  • Weekends: Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 6:00 to 18:30. Note, if all three shifts are worked, hours get topped up to 40 hours per week.
