Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Dental Assisting Program Instructor to join our team at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and assessment in our Dental Assisting program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive curriculum for the Dental Assisting program, incorporating current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction, as well as supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments.
  • Conduct program administration tasks, as required, to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
  • Provide dental assisting services, as needed, to support the program.
  • Collaborate with the Dental Hygiene Program to provide instructional support, as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Master's degree in a related field (e.g., dental education, education, or a related field).
  • Eligibility for registration and licensure as a dental assistant in Saskatchewan.
  • Minimum of two years of recent and relevant dental assisting experience in a dental office, utilizing current dental assisting principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Effective communication, instructional, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
  • Competence in the use of technology, including the internet, email, and MS Office Suite software.
