Position Overview: The Pastry Chef is responsible for delivering high-quality pastry items for daily banquet and a la carte services. This role involves leadership within the kitchen, contributing to the creative and innovative culture of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operations within the pastry kitchen
  • Design and implement dessert menus for dining services and special events
  • Ensure all pastry items meet established quality standards
  • Lead the kitchen team to achieve daily success
  • Supervise daily operations and additional tasks for kitchen staff
  • Ensure timely completion of all mise en place
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry area, ensuring proper food storage
  • Adhere to provincial health regulations and food safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for culinary arts and current food trends
  • Red Seal certification with 3-5 years of experience in a similar role focused on pastry
  • Creativity and skill in enhancing food quality and presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Capability to train staff using established culinary techniques
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Commitment to workplace and food safety standards
  • Experience in inventory management, portion control, and waste reduction
  • Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities.
