Role Overview

As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Stamping, you will play a crucial role in project execution, achieving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to ergonomics, quality output, and process efficiency. You will address shop floor challenges through root cause analysis and the Toyota Business Practice (TBP) problem-solving methodology. Your effective communication skills and collaborative approach will enable you to work with TMMC team members in continuous improvement initiatives. In this position, you will provide technical guidance and collaborate with operations, maintenance, and quality teams to meet performance targets in your designated process area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance KPI achievement through data-driven analysis, focusing on safety compliance, quality enhancements, cost reduction, increased throughput, and efficient manufacturing practices.
  • Support capital investment initiatives and oversee all aspects of project implementation, including budgeting, scope development, equipment/process specifications, bid management, procurement, installation, integration, commissioning, and final approval.
  • Identify and address bottlenecks in blanking, laser welding, and stamping processes through Countermeasure, Kaizen, and Yokoten methodologies.
  • Establish necessary conditions for processes and equipment to ensure capability.
  • Assist in quality outflow investigations, conducting analyses and implementing recurrence prevention strategies.
  • Drive daily cycle time improvements through process enhancements and downtime reduction.
  • Support operational cost competitiveness through automation, maintenance, and scrap reduction efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement countermeasures for quality and productivity challenges.
  • Maintain management systems to ensure standardization and compliance, ensuring that equipment and systems adhere to relevant standards and regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent education and experience (Electrical or Controls background preferred).
  • 1 to 3 years of practical engineering experience, preferably in high-volume manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Stamping process, including equipment and automation.
  • Strong project management abilities with a proven track record of leading initiatives without direct authority.
  • Experience in troubleshooting equipment breakdowns and preventing recurrence through analysis.
  • Experience in equipment installation and refurbishment, including safety risk assessments and compliance reviews.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to support overtime requirements as necessary.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.
  • Ability to work in multiple locations as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI programming (ControlLogix, Mitsubishi, Toyopuc, Pro-face preferred).
  • Experience with Motor Drive/VFD programming (Mitsubishi, Yaskawa preferred).
  • Familiarity with Safety PLC programming and safety circuit knowledge (Siemens, AB GuardLogix preferred).
  • Understanding of SCADA systems (AVEVA/Indusoft preferred).
  • Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization.
