Role Overview

In your capacity as the Occupational Therapist/Clinical Advisor for Hammonds Furniture Limited, you will play a vital role in our Community Equipment Services (CES). We seek an enthusiastic and seasoned Occupational Therapist to provide expert guidance and support to prescribers, commissioners, operational staff, and the community.

Your expertise will be essential in ensuring best practices within the service and in the development and implementation of innovative solutions, delivering a high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient equipment loan service.

Your daily responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

  1. Collaborating with the senior management team, referrers, commissioners, suppliers, and operational teams to effectively deliver a person-centered Community Equipment Service that ensures individuals receive the appropriate equipment to meet their needs in a timely manner.
  2. Offering comprehensive, specialized support and advice to referrers into the service and to managers and colleagues within the service to maximize the recycling of specialized equipment, including oversight of special orders.
  3. Providing expert clinical reasoning and advice regarding the supply, suitability, and procurement of equipment into and from the service.
  4. Working in partnership with health and social care professionals and CES commissioners to develop best practices for future equipment provision, ensuring robust clinical governance and safe operational practices.
  5. Facilitating and delivering training and demonstration sessions tailored to the needs of the contract.
  6. Collaborating with CES managers to ensure catalog systems and accurate information are in place to optimize utilization and ensure best value for money.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  1. Diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy
  2. Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  3. Significant post-qualification experience at a senior level
  4. Experience in community equipment services.
