Clinical Therapist Position

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join their Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. As a member of this team, you will provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. You will work collaboratively with families and other healthcare professionals to provide person-centered care and support individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders.
About YouWe are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Therapist who possesses a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline and current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body. You will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders, as well as skills in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies. You will also have experience in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention, and be able to work effectively in multiple software applications.
Key Responsibilities- Provide assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients
- Collaborate with families and other healthcare professionals to provide person-centered care
- Develop and implement individualized care plans
- Provide education and support to clients and their families
- Participate in quality initiatives and continuous quality improvement
- Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline
- Current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders
- Skills in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies
- Experience in crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention
- Ability to work effectively in multiple software applications
